Scope Construction's Maz Pate and Glenn Slater were privileged to attend the official opening of Homefield College's Unity 109 by the Deputy Mayoress of Charnwood Borough Council today.
In summer Scope completed the transformation of the disused social club (formerly known as Unity Hall) into new SEND teaching facilities, working with RG+P’s multi-discipline team.
It was moving to hear from many of the students about how Homefield College is helping them to build their confidence and achieve their full potential. As well as watching the premier showing of the student's video about the power of specialist further education, which ended with a Ho Ho Homefield College.
It is days like this that make us appreciate that what we build is often about much more than bricks and mortar. In this case it is about supporting young people with a safe space to grow, be themselves, find opportunity, build confidence and gain a real sense of independence.
